Signed bottom right and fronted by a glazed panel set within what appears to be its original gilt gesso frame.

 

Provenance:

Retaining remnants of an old gallery label verso for John A. Cooling Fine Art Gallery, New Bond Street London & Burlington Art Gallery Mostyn Llandudnoe, Wales.

 

Measurements:

7.75” high x 10.75” wide (sight), framed dimensions 16” high x 19” wide.          

 

William Arthur Breakspeare was a founding member of the Birmingham Art Circle and a member of the Newlyn School in Cornwall. He was also a member of the RBSA (Royal Birmingham Society of Artists), and the RBA (Royal Society of British Artists). He exhibited works at the RA (Royal Academy), SS (Suffolk House) and GG (Grosvenor Gallery).
