Fronted by a glazed panel and set within what appears to be its original giltwood frame. Measuring (sight) 19.5” high x 15.5” wide, (framed) 26” high x 22” wide”.
 
Dodd studied at the Liverpool School of Art from 1917 to 1921 and earned a Royal Exhibition scholarship to attend the Royal College of Art (RCA) from 1921-1925, studying alongside fellow artists & long-time friends, Henry Moore, Raymond Coxon, and Edna Ginesi. Throughout her career Phyllis Dodd regularly exhibited at the New English Art Club (NEAC), the Royal Academy (RA), the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP), the Walker Art Gallery, and the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA), where her portraits received high acclaim. In 1928 she married noted British artist Douglas Percy Bliss, with whom she often collaborated and exhibited with.
