This handsome stick spatter spongeware platter was made in the UK circa 1860. It has a purple sponged border and free hand painting of the floral decoration. It has a heavy ironstone body and measures 16 x 13 inches. It has a beautiful shiny glaze and is free of any knife cuts or signs of overuse. There is one rim chip to the back edge that is not visible from the front.
