An Exceptionally Fine & Large Hand Embroidered Chinese Matrimonial Silk Panel, Circa 1900
 
The navy blue silk field richly decorated with hand-stitched gold, silver & coloured silk threads illustrating auspicious symbols including ‘double happiness’, as well as images of phoenix, clouds, peonies, pairs of lovebirds, etc., all denoting blessings of longevity, prosperity, blissfulness, romance, etc.          
              
Set within a very good Chinese hardwood frame, fronted by a glazed panel.                                                           
Framed Dimensions, 82" wide x 21.75" high x 1.5" deep. 
Sight Dimensions, 79" wide x 18.5" high.       
(As observed, the silk panel appears to be folded within the frame, suggesting that it may likely exceed the stated sight dimensions).
