Formerly the SS Canada, the St Irenee was operated by the Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company. It travelled along the Saguenay River and St. Lawrence rivers to various company hotels and other summer watering places.

This model was made around 1900 with laminated wood fitted with sheet copper facing and painted finer details.

Another equally charming example by the same maker is illustrated on page 384 of Folk art to 1950 by Fleming & Rowan.

Measurements: 44 inches long

An early 20thC wooden & copper painted model of 'St Irenee' formerly 'SS Canada'
