An 18th Century American Queen Anne Rush Seated Armchair

Connecticut Circa 1750

The pegged maple frame showing a yoke-shaped crest-rail over a vasi-form cherry splat, braced by turned rear stiles and turned finials. The notably elegant wavy shaped armrests terminating to scrolled grips raised on turned front stiles above an old rush seat, all four stiles braced by turned stretchers.

A very handsome & sophisticated example in sound condition, exhibiting a fine honeyed patina. In sound condition, early pegged repairs to supports.
