V-Chest 18Th

This Quebec chest from the mid-18th century is a magnificent example of traditional craftsmanship of the time. Its construction and assembly faithfully reflect the techniques used during the French regime.
The worn and patinated lid, with its shape in corbin beak, testifies to its intensive use over the years. The grooves on the large corneal posts, firmly anchored, demonstrate the quality of the assembly. Hand-forged hinges and large forged nails add an authentic artisanal touch.
The wrought iron consolidations, fixed in squares with forged nails, are valuable testimonies of repairs made over time, adding a certain rusticity and an aged charm to the trunk.
