This example exhibits the maker's extraordinary skill in creating complex patterns of floral motifs composed of hundreds of tiny seed beads sewn in  carefully coordinated colour combinations.  This notable technical skill is enhanced by the balancing of a symmetric and asymmetric design scheme with stunning visual effect.  The aesthetic effect of the multi colored design element scheme is accentuated  by the placement of the multi coloured floral motifs on a background of jet black velvet cloth with white bead edging.  The backing is printed cotton cloth.
 
This item was made for trade into the late Victorian Euro Canadian market in an era when wall pockets were in demand as practical  and decorative items.
 
CONDITION   
A testament to the skill of the maker, the entire original floral bead design on the face is still perfectly intact.  The only few  missing bead gaps occur in the outside white single bead edging, very minor in the whole scheme . No insect or stain damage anywhere.  No repairs or restoration.
Overall in fine original condition.

    Cet exemple montre l'extraordinaire habileté du fabricant à créer des motifs complexes de motifs floraux composés de centaines de minuscules perles de rocaille cousues dans des combinaisons de couleurs soigneusement coordonnées. Cette compétence technique notable est renforcée par l'équilibrage d'un schéma de conception symétrique et asymétrique avec un effet visuel époustouflant. L'effet esthétique du schéma d'éléments de conception multicolore est accentué par le placement des motifs floraux multicolores sur un fond de tissu de velours noir de jais avec une bordure de perles blanches. Le support est en tissu de coton imprimé. Cet article a été fabriqué pour être commercialisé sur le marché euro-canadien de la fin de l'époque victorienne à une époque où les pochettes murales étaient recherchées en tant qu'articles pratiques et décoratifs.

    ÉTAT

    Témoignage de l'habileté du fabricant, l'ensemble du motif de perles florales d'origine sur le visage est toujours parfaitement intact. Les quelques rares interstices manquants se produisent dans la bordure extérieure blanche à simple bourrelet, très mineure dans l'ensemble du schéma . Aucun dommage d'insecte ou de tache n'importe où. Aucune réparation ni restauration. Dans l'ensemble en bon état d'origine.
