An etched steel lock box, ca.1600, with elaborate locking mechanism.
Likely made in Nuremberg, this is a very fine example of the genre and
the etching of people in period dress is extremely well done.
The locking mechanism has it's original key and is in working order.
The interior appears original and the piece is in excellent condition.
A rare survivor.

A late 16th C etched steel lock box with figures, likely Nuremberg, circa 1600
