An impressive hand crafted sterling silver cuff bracelet / bangle, decorated overall with traditional totemic Haida motifs and centred by a striking abalone roundel.

 

The interior bearing the artists signature & dated 1979, together with a dedication to Dr. George F. McDonald, noted Canadian anthropologist & former Executive Director of the Canadian Museum of Man.       

 

Dimensions: 3” high x 3” diameter.

Ron A. Sebastian (1945 -) is a highly accomplished Northwest British Columbia native artist, who is both a member of the Gitksan and Wet'suwet'en Peoples. Ron studied carving & design at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art, located at 'Ksan Village in Hazelton British Columbia. He is currently living & working in the village of Hagwilget on the North Coast of British Columbia, where he both designs & creates his work in gold, silver, marine ivory & abalone. His finely crafted jewellery sensitively & respectfully echoes both the spiritual & natural worlds around him and is much sought after by both domestic & international clients.
