The spot-hammered capstan shaped body rising to a neck decorated with embossed Tudor Rose motifs, applied wirework elements and an applied wrythen shaped band beneath a dome shaped top.
Bearing impressed London hallmarks with date letter for 1906, the underside bearing impressed makers marks for Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr. Height, 4.25”. Weight 144 grams or 4.62 troy ounces.
Omar Ramsden (1873-1940) is regarded as the preeminent silversmith of the British Arts & Crafts movement. He and silversmith Charles Ellison Carr (1872-1940) formed a partnership and registered their mark, Ramsden & Carr in 1898.
Ramsden & Carr went on to become one of the most successful British silversmith firms of the early 20th century.
