INUIT CARVED IVORY WALRUS & POLAR BEAR EFFIGY PIPE
 
A delightful early Inuit smoking pipe crafted from a walrus tusk. Decorated on all sides, carved along its 10" length with effigies of walrus and polar bear, and also scrimshawed on several sides with primitive scenes of daily life.
Acquired from the estate of a woman who was in the north in the 1960's.
Believed to be early 20th century, but possibly earlier.
