An English sterling silver Charles II porringer, London 1678 by Robert Cooper.
The body is chased with acanthus leaves and has two applied Caryatid handles. It is engraved with a large identical armorial on both sides. The lid is mounted with a multi sectional floral finial and is decorated with acanthus leaves.The armorials are ca. 1735 but the gilding appears original.
