Measures 7.5 inches high, weighing 300 gms.  
 
Inscribed:  Arnprior Exhibition 1874
Awarded to J & W Thompson for The Best Herd of Cattle. 
 
Early and scarce piece of 19th century Canadian silver. 
 
Ellis was operating between 1848 and 1878. In 1879 his nephews Philip and Matthew carried on the business. The firm was taken over by Birks in 1928.
