Maine & New Brunswick Steamship Poster
 
Beyond scarce 19th century advertising poster for the International
Steamship Company's "Eastern Sea Coast Route", published by Hatch
Lithographic Company of New York. The International Steamship Company
served the northeast coast of the United States and Canada, including
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This circa 1885 poster depicts the
sidewheel steamer "State of Maine" built in 1882. She boasted both
American and Canadian flags, plying the Atlantic coast between Maine and
St. John, New Brunswick. This poster is mounted within its original
lemon gilt plaster and wood frame. Some age toning but overall quite
good. Views much better than the photos suggest.
