Attractive portrait of an infantry officer of the National Guard during the reign of King Louis-Philippe. The handsome blue-eyed and mustachioed officer wears a dark blue coat with scarlet collar, epaulettes, counter-epaulettes and silver grenadier buttons.

Oil on canvas painting by an unknown artist, produced around 1830. Recently relined and professionally restored. It is mounted in its rare original gilt wood, gesso and sand textured frame.

A wonderful addition to any military portrait collection or 19th century decor.
