Birks sterling silver footed bowl with chain link gallery, weighing approximately 32 ounces and measuring six inches high by 9.5 inches diameter.

Andrew Dawes ( 1846 - 1921 ) part of the Dawes Brewery  family from Lachine Quebec founded in 1811 and sold to Dow Brewery in 1952.
 
It is interesting to note that the race was to begin 8 days after the start of WW1.
