Inukshuk Man c 1990
Stone, inlay
H 15" W 9"  D 7"
Inukshuk Man is carved in the Gjoa Haven aesthetic that he helped create along with brothers Judas Ullulaq and Charlie Ugjuk.  It is prominent in size and forceful in style, with jagged stacked flat rocks shaped in dark pyroxen stone.  The janus faces are considerably more down to earth.  One side appears to be a figure having some munchies, the opposing figure with a bit of a quizzical look.  Perhaps it is a traveller stopping at an an Inukshuk to rest and have a bite to eat.
