Charlie Sivuarapik (Povungnituk)
11" x 6" x 6"
Charlie Sivuarapik is recognized as an important early master and influential carver in the community of Povungnituk. His brand of realism helped define the Povungnituk aesthetic from the start of modern Inuit Art. Archer is a fine and large example of Sivuarapik's early realistic style. The hunter appears to be alerted to a target and is carefully readying his bow while leaning forward. While every part of Archer is thick, It is sculpted a tremendous amount of finesse throughout.
