A Rare Early 19th Century Waterloo Glass Company Decanter, Ireland Circa 1820

                                                                           

The moulded Prussian-form body showing a base with vertical cut flutes, rising to shoulders decorated with wheel cut vesica motifs, ribboned swags & basal flutes, the neck with three applied annulated rings rising to a wide flaring rim and retaining its original crimped target stopper. The underside of the base having a pontil mark and molded lettering noting Waterloo Glass Co.

The Waterloo Glass Company was established in Cork, Ireland in 1818.

 

Height, 9.75”.                                

In very good overall condition.
