A fine quality Meiji period Japanese silver tea set by Watanabe Zo, Yokohama c.1900.

Comprising a teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl and sugar tongs in the original fitted case, beautifully chased and embossed with irises in high-relief.

Marked for Watanabe Zo, and Jungin (pure silver) and engraved on the handle "Garden Cub From Captain and Officers HMS Fox 1901-4".

Height of teapot to top of handle 7.25" (18.4cm), total weight 27.6 troy oz (858g).
