The Royal Montreal Golf Club was founded in 1873. It is the oldest golf club in North America and still in operation. It received Royal title by Queen Victoria in 1884.
A. J. Dawes, third generation of Dawes Brewery, Lachine, Quebec. Founded in 1811 and sold in 1952. Dawes was also mayor of Lachine from 1888 to 1893.
W.S. Clouston was a member of the Pointe Claire Yacht Club and for a time it's President.
